Finding the perfect candidate can be a very challenging task. Here are some tips to help!
1) Avoid distractions in the meeting room
Ensure that there is little to no noise or distraction in or near the meeting room. This is extremely unprofessional and can affect the overall performance of the candidate and the interviewer.
2) Make the candidate feel comfortable
Candidates are generally very nervous at interviews, especially if its their first one. As the interviewer, ensure that you make the candidate feel comfortable and perhaps ask a few icebreaker questions before getting into the serious stuff.
3) No racism or sexual bias
This is an unspoken rule, do not select candidates based on race, gender or religion. In order to display the utmost professionalism, candidates should solely be selected based on their level of qualification, experience and merit.
4) Be opened to questions
It is important that the candidate is able to ask questions otherwise, when they are selected, they will feel as though there as aspects of the job that they were unaware of. It is important for candidates to receive clarity.
